He attended Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California where he played baseball, football and basketball. He graduated from Junipero Serra High School in 1995 and joined the University of Michigan. He made his NFL debut after he was drafted by the New England Patriots during the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft.
